FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW LONDON, MO - Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie announces the arrest of Donald R. White, 68, of Hannibal in connection with the theft of monies in excess of $300,000 dollars from the parishioners of the Antioch Baptist Church. White is being charged with two (2) federal counts of wire fraud. He is being transported to St. Louis by the FBI for incarceration.
The extensive investigation was initiated after the suspicious fire which destroyed the Antioch Baptist Church on December 20, 2016. White, who was an elder and longtime treasurer of the church, was suspected by other parishioners of being involved with the large scale theft of church funds just prior to the fire.
The investigation was conducted by the Ralls County Sheriff’s Office, and assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, and the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office.
Sheriff Dinwiddie greatly appreciates the support and patience of the parishioners of Antioch Baptist Church during this investigation.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
