CARJACKING SUSPECT CAPTURED
Citizen-reported sighting leads to apprehension
NEW LONDON, MO - Authorities in Ralls County have arrested the person responsible for allegedly forcing a woman to drive him from Hannibal to New London this past Saturday.
In custody is Kenneth W. Suggs, 40, of Jasper, FL.
Over the last three days, hundreds of man-hours from multiple agencies, including air support from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, have been spent searching for Suggs. It was a tip from a citizen this afternoon who reported a man walking near Doe Run Rd that led to the apprehension of the elusive suspect.
Suggs is believed to have been in the area of Highway 19 between Love's Truck Stop and Doe Run Rd since Saturday. Residents in that area are encouraged to check their barns, sheds, vehicles, and other outbuildings and report any missing items to the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office is also asking that anyone who may have had contact with Suggs including providing him with transportation, money, clothing, or other items, contact their agency.
Suggs is being held on a 24-hour hold in the Marion County Jail while charges are pending.
